A selection of clubs available in the Tour Van for players on the PGA Tour.
These staff bags feature the names of our Titleist Tour Representatives.
Two staff bags full of Vokey Design wedges.
Several drivers waiting to "get the call".

Would you build a prototype club for a player if he requested one, or would several Tour pros need to ask for a similar club to be built to justify it being made?

Our R&D Department develops prototype clubs for potential introduction to golf shops and not strictly for use on Tour. We utilize our Titleist ambassadors to performance-validate prototype products, as well as to give us ideas on how to improve prototype products.

How often is a club introduced on Tour, well received, but never introduced to the public? Obviously clubs released to the public are in Tour players' bags first as you said for performance validating, but are there ever clubs that do well on Tour but are just not intended for the public?

The candy shop must have been busy at the AT&T...1-2-3 finish with all Titleist guys...I guess the Tour Validation works!
Keep up the good work!

Would you say the Diamana shaft is the most popular shaft you install? The big boys really like it in their woods. Any thoughts?
JET wrote on May 24, 2007 at 9:05PM
The UST Proforce V2 and Aldila VS Proto and NV shafts are the shafts we install most on Tour. For consumers, the Aldila VS Proto, Graphite Design YS-6+, and UST Proforce V2 have been our most popular shafts this year.

How many wedges do your Titleist staff players go through each year on average? In the 60s and 70s, Tour players would often use the same wedge for many years, even if the grooves were worn!! Would the brand new wedges provide more consistency for the advanced player?

Is there someone doing the same very nice job as you on the European Tour?
JET wrote on May 28, 2007 at 11:05AM
We do have Titleist Tour Representatives servicing the European Tour. We are currently working with them to provide content for the Titleist Tour Blog.

I would like to know if it is possible to have initials stamped on a Vokey Design wedge when I order it?
JET wrote on June 1, 2007 at 12:06PM
Initial stamping is not currently a custom option for club orders.

I have read other people's questions about the 907D4, and know that you guys can't say yet if the 907D4 will be made available for sale in golf shops. I am just writing to ask you to please make it available, even if it is on a special order basis like some of the irons used to be. I have a 905S and a 905R and usually use the 905S. I have hit both the 907D1 and 907D2 drivers, and I really like the looks, feel, and the fact that hardly any ball speed is lost when you miss it just a little. I for some reason just feel I have more control with a smaller head that has a more forward CG, not only for controlling how much draw or fade, but even hitting it dead straight, both high and low. I am a loyal Titleist player who is just asking that the very, very small percentage of amateur players who also prefer or need these "Tour style clubs" not be forgotten. I would definitely order one as soon as they became available, no matter how long the wait, and a lot of guys in the amateur tourneys I play in still use some of the older smaller models for the same reason, so I know there is a market out there for them.

Being a Titleist staffer looks like heaven. I was just wondering how willing most players are to put new clubs into play versus sticking with older models.
JET wrote on June 7, 2007 at 12:06AM
Our players are always willing to try new product, but we don't force them to play with equipment that they're not comfortable with.

When will Titleist release the TVD Spin Milled wedges?
