This past weekend, Titleist Brand Ambassador Zach Johnson hosted the annual Zach Johnson Foundation Classic at his home course, Elmcrest Country Club in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Foundation Classic benefits the Kids on Course program, a charter program that helps students in the Cedar Rapids school district reach their academic and individual potential.
On Sunday afternoon, Zach hosted a short game clinic with the help of the Vokey Team and Zach's coaches, Mike Bender and Dr. Mo Pickens. All of the donors and participants received short game advice from Mike as well as mental instruction from Dr. Mo.
One of the many highlights of the afternoon was the wedge fitting session, where each participant was fit for a custom Vokey Design SM4 wedge.
The Vokey Team was joined by Titleist staffer and prominent fitter Bryan Haas from the Titleist Advanced Fitting Center at Riverside Golf Resort. Bryan and his team worked with each participant to determine bounce recommendations, yardage gapping and the optimal shafts for their new wedges.
During his closing remarks, Johnson, a 9-time PGA Tour winner, gave his thoughts on the afternoon, "What you see is me front and center, but you don't always see the team behind me. Team Johnson is critical to my success. I want to thank Titleist, Bob Vokey, and the Vokey fitters for making this a special event."
