This year, Titleist and Acushnet Company partnered with the Folds of Honor Foundation in the "Play with a Patriot Sweepstakes", a Labor Day promotion which gave golfers the chance to experience the power of patriotism along with the explosive distance of the Titleist Velocity golf ball.
Robb Waller, an environmental engineer from Rochester, New York, won the Grand Prize, which included an all-expense-paid trip for Robb and two guests to play a round of golf at The Patriot Golf Club in Owasso, Oklahoma. Robb and his guests would be joined by Major Dan Rooney, PGA Professional and founder of the Folds of Honor Foundation. To round out the foursome, Robb, a Team Titleist member since 2012, invited his brother Mike and his father Mark, who is a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Kellie Costa, Senior Marketing Manager, Titleist Golf Balls, represented Titleist at the event. She was kind enough to share some great moments from the weekend in the slideshow gallery above.
Kellie also sent along the message she received from Robb shortly after Labor Day. Thank you for joining us, Robb.
I'd like to thank Titleist for the Velocity sweepstakes. Labor Day weekend will be a trip that myself, my father and my brother will never forget. The weekend was so much more than the golf.
I was pleased, as was my brother, to watch my father open up and speak about his time in Vietnam. Although I may have won the sweepstakes, I believe my father was the true winner.
THANK YOU to Acushnet and to you, Kellie, for the experience of a lifetime.
