Video: Inside the Ropes with the #1 Ball in Golf at the 2014 U.S. Open Championship

Posted: June 13, 2014

The golf world turns its attention to the Sandhills region of North Carolina this week, where the 114th U.S. Open Championship is being contested on the Donald Ross masterpiece, Pinehurst No. 2.

Opened in 1907, Ross said that No. 2 was “the fairest test of championship golf I have ever designed.” Recently restored to reflect Ross's original vision, No. 2 will present a unique challenge to players, who will have to master every phase of the game for a chance to raise the championship trophy on Father's Day Sunday.

And as has been the case at the U.S. Open every year since 1948, Titleist is the overwhelming golf ball of choice with 93 players in the field trusting a Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball for their success. That’s more than four times the nearest competitor with 20 and more than all competitors combined.

Titleist was also the top choice among players in the iron (35) and sand, lob and approach wedge (126) categories.

Check out the video above and join us for a tour inside-the-ropes at Pinehurst as we followed players earlier in the week during their preparations for the National Championship.

Good luck to all of #TeamTitleist this weekend!

To play this course competitively, you need a ball that you can count on and that is the reason Titleist is the number one ball at the US Open.....what a test of golf skills.....

Back to the Pinehurst is great. I played at Pine Needles with Wally Armstrong a few years a go. God Bless, David Curtis.
