Titleist Tips: Finesse Wedge Technique vs. Your Full Swing

1 min
Added on October 21, 2020

In his book "Your Short Game Solution", Titleist staff member James Sieckmann shares a revelation he discovered after years of studying wedge play - the technique that the best wedge players use to hit short wedge shots (finesse shots as James calls them) IS NOT a miniature version of their full swing action. On finesse shots, the goals are different (touch vs. power). The way the club is used is very different, and so is the motion of the body.

In this video, James breaks down the proper kinematic sequence for finesse shot technique and shows how getting these details right will instantly improve your contact, turf interaction, spin and overall control over the golf ball on your short shots around the greens.
