Hall Charges to Victory at RICOH Women's British Open

Sitting one stroke off the lead and in the final pairing at the RICOH Women’s British Open on Sunday, Georgia Hall (Pro V1x) set her sights on the top of the leaderboard and got to work at Royal Lytham and St. Annes Golf Links.

She came out of the gate fast, making birdies on three of her first six holes, and then never looked back. She erased the deficit, took the lead and, with the hometown crowd behind her, held on to become the first English player to win the event since 2004.

“You know, I had all those people cheering for me and standing up, and it was so nice to have all their support. It did mean a lot to me throughout the last four days,” said Hall.

And the support certainly propelled Hall as she carded a 5-under-par 67 to capture her first career title and her first major.

“I always joked to myself, because I haven't really won a tournament since I turned pro, that the first one I win would be a major,” added Hall. “I always used to say that. I've actually done it now.”

Congratulations, Georgia!
