Many Years Many Rounds It Finally Happened

Whiskey Creek Golf Club, Ijamsville, MD

Today was a day in the middle of a serious heat wave on the East Coast. I was running late for the tee time due to the traffic in the Washington, DC area. My golf partner Al was already at the course waiting for me. After I arrive 30 minutes late and not even warming up, we made our way to the starter. He paired us up with another twosome, Nick and Chris. Both of these guys were just great to be paired with and made the round more enjoyable. After a rough start due to not warming up and the stress of arriving late, the heat was really kicking in. By the 5th hole, I finally started settling in. Then when we got to the par 3 7th hole, I played last. It was a short hole so I played a nice smooth 9 iron shot. The pin was on the right side of the green. The ball flight started out on the right edge of the green and began working its way back to the left. It landed on the green a few yards short of the pin to the right. It began rolling closer and closer and then disapeared. You should have heard the celebration from everyone in our group. Everyone was so appreciative to be part of my Ace. They said they would remember that day for a long time to come. I will too. I still beleive using my Titleist irons and the ProV1x balls helped me make this possible. Now I can't wait for the next time.
