I've been playing golf for 51 years and finally I made my first hole-in-one! I've come close many times, even lipping out one time on a 200 yard par 3. And while I've holed many shots from the fairway for eagles, I've never had the thrill of a true ace. More frustrating is that both of my sons have made 1s, with my oldest son making his on a 361 par 4!

But me, the daddy? It wasn't happening. And then out or the blue and in a round that was otherwise lackluster, lightening strikes! I hit hit a pure 8 iron that was tracking, prompting my playing partner to holler "Go in the hole!"

And seconds later, it disappeared from sight!
