I've known several people in my family or circle of friends who have hit a hole in one. I honestly never thought one was in the cards for me. "I've been so close", is what I have said to anyone who would ever ask if I had a hole in one. Well on Wednesday May 18, 2016 I scored my ace and it was all I thought it would be and more. 17th hole at Shoal Creek Golf Course in Kansas City, Missouri. Par 3 (obviously) 160 yards over a deep gorge. I thought about a strong 9 iron, but chose 8. After I hit the ball, I immediately like the way the shot sounded and the ball was drawing from right to left. I was screaming in my head "be good" but didn't say anything and then the ball landed from my perspective, really close to the hole. I was excited when the ball hit so close and then the ball started rolling. As my playing partners was saying it may go in, again I was yelling in my head, "GO IN!!!" but still didn't say anything. Then the ball disappeared in the cup and I was in shock. A course employee happened to be sitting in a golf cart behind the green and his arms went up and I threw my club down and what I said next is not PG, so we'll leave it at that. I went up and grabbed my Titleist Pro V1 out of the cup and put it away knowing that was a new treasure for the rest of my life.
