22 Years In the Making
By Jonathan M On April 3, 2012
My name is Jonathan and I'm 29 and have been playing golf since I was seven. Like many people, I learned the game from my dad. I have witnessed 5-6 holes in one but had never had one until today. I play at The Course at River Oaks in Searcy, AR. I was lucky enough to get off work early and the weather was perfect, so I called my pal Eric to see if he wanted to tee it up. The front nine was mostly benign. However, little did we know that things would get interesting on the 13th hole. We were playing from the blue tees, which measured 164 yds on this day. The pin was set on the front right part of the green. I was hitting a Titleist ProV 1 ball and a Titleist AP2 8 iron. I teed off first and when the ball was in the air, I was just hoping it would be close. When it landed, I didn't see the ball bounce or roll. All I heard was something that sounded like it hit the pin. When we got to the green I realized that the ball had flown right into the cup on the fly. The right side of the cup was damaged where ball hit. I went on to finish the round with a -1, 70. I wish the best of luck to all other golfers out there. Have fun, play often, and hit em' good!
