A birthday surprise

My godson Tyler always takes me out for a round for my birthday around March 2. This year it was on the fifth, and we only got in nine. Been working on a swing change, so the first couple holes were pretty ragged, but I was making contact by the 12th (we were playing the back nine at Eastmoreland, a springtime favorite). The pin was back on the 12th, a 135 yd. par three with a severely sloping green from front to back. The false front always fools you into hitting short, with a difficult uphill putt. A lake guards the front of the green. I aimed at the flag with an 8 iron, enough to land past the false front. I,hit it solid, all the new moves working perfectly. I didn't see the ball land. I knew it was close, but the elevation from tee to green made it hard to see past the flag. As we walked up, Tyler said, I don't see the ball. It might have gone,in. I didn't belive it until I saw a ballmark a foot or so behind themhole, and my Pro V1x on the cup. It had landed past the hole and spun back in.
