A Special Week

On Wednesday, Oct. 5 I made my first hole-in-one.

I was playing a regular Wednesday morning game with my mother and four other women. On hole number one I picked up a black Pro V1 that someone had left as a lost ball. I decided to try it out. My husband is a Pro V fan, but I always considered it a man's golf ball. I'm by no means a par golfer and usually am happy to be a bogey golfer with a par here and there.

On the fifth hole my newly acquired used Pro V1 barely missed a bath in the one lake on the course and came to a rest in the rock border. When we reached the 14th par 3, I took the tee first and hit what I considered a ball that was slightly left of the correct path to the hole. My group and I stood on the tee and watched the ball take a turn toward the hole. I heard, "Go in the hole!" And it did. The hole in one made what was already a special week more exciting as my daughter had married on Saturday. Isn't golf fun! Now Pro V1 is my ball and if my husband is missing a few that he leaves in his pocket or laying on his dresser I'll be a better golfer because of it!
