Hello, I have to do a little self promotion here, but the story is too cool not to share. Mike Fiscus, Jr. and I, (Tim Stott) were playing in the same foursome on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at our home club of Emanon Country Club in Falls, PA. It's located near Scranton, PA and just the fact that we got such a nice day and were able to golf was rare enough. A few holes later, things got even rarer. Mike and I both aced the #6 hole. We shot the yardage with a range finder and the hole was playing 142 yards. Mike and I were opponents in our better-ball match and the shots came on consecutive swings. Mike holed it first using a 7-iron and I followed using a 9-iron. Since we had a group of nearly 30 guys playing a skins game, the consecutive aces cancelled our chances at a skin and also tied the hole. The shots were witnessed by the other members in our foursome, Bob Stott, Jr. (my older brother) and Thomas McCafferty, Jr. (a mutual friend.) Mike is 29 years old and I am 26. We were high school teammates. We're great friends and we have been playing golf together on public courses since we've been little kids. Neither of us knew for sure that the shots were in the cup. The way the hole sets up, it's not uncommon for you to think you hit a good shot, only to get to the green and see your ball over the back of the green. When we pulled our carts to the back of the green and did not see any golf balls, my heart started pounding. Thomas McCafferty, Jr. got to the hole first and screamed "there's 2 balls in the cup!!" I then spotted them next. But, Mike was still leery. When Mike got to the hole and saw both golf balls sitting in the bottom of the cup, he stood there in shock for a moment and then we just started hugging and screaming and celebrating like crazy. This was my second hole in one and it was Mike's first. On a side note, since our clubhouse was closed, we were able to get out of dodge without having to buy a round of drinks for the other 30 or guys in the skins game. No worries though, they did not forget in the slightest when the clubhouse re-opened in the spring. Hands down this was the most exciting thing that I was ever a part of on a golf course. Mike and I have both been long time users of Titleist products. I used a ProV1x number 1 and Mike used a ProV1 number 4 to record the aces. I also use the Titleist AP1 irons and have numerous hats, including the one seen in the picture that day. Mike didn't have any that day but he is a huge fan of the yellow Titleist balls. He has trouble with his vision and depth perception so it makes it a lot easier for him to pick up the ball when he uses them. We both wanted to say thank you for your great products that we use everyday. It gives us an advantage on the course and it was proved that day! A few days later our local newspaper, The Scranton Times Tribune, called both of us and wrote up a very nice story in their New Year's Day Edition of the paper. Was very nice of them to recognize us in the way they did. Had all of our friends and families talking about the feat for weeks on end. I actually just found out about how Team Titleist also likes to recognize great things that happen to golfers, especially when using your equipment which both of us have used since childhood. Something about having "TITLEIST" on your ball, clubs, and other equipment gives you that little edge and confidence we all need when playing this difficult game. We all play for the same reason though, for moments like these that will last forever!!! I have attached a picture that was taken just moments after the aces. Also have a picture of the article in the Times Tribune that was written on a plaque along with one of the balls used. We made 2 plaques and both are hanging in our Clubhouse at our Country Club. I really hope that you share this story. Thank you for your time. -Tim Stott 570-241-1119 -Mike Fiscus, Jr. 570-241-6490
