Family Matter

This past July, my son from Denver Co. called and told me that he was coming to Salt Lake City for a business trip and asked if we could get together and play golf while he was here. So, that Sunday, he and my wife and my younger son that lives here played golf at the Meadow Brook Golf Course in Taylorsville, Utah. On the 17th hole (Par 3 - 170 yards)the pin was all the way to the back of the long slanted green. I hit my shot and it looked very good from the start. It hit in the center of the green, rolled toward the pin and disappeared. My son said, "that ball went in the hole!" The green drops off about four feet at the rear and I thought the ball had rolled off the back. We drove up to the green and my wife was getting ready to hit her second shot. My two sons went zipping past us to the back of the green and looked for my ball. One of the said "I don't see a ball!". They both jumped out of the cart, ran to the cup and started jumping up and down and screaming. There was my Titleist NXT Tour with the red circle around the number lying at the bottom of the cup. After only 51 years of trying, I finally got my first Hole in One. It was a great day and it was especially great because I was playing with my wife and two of my sons. It would only have been better if my other son and daughter were there also.
