I've been playing golf for 42 years. And I've been convinced that I will never get a hole in one. I have seen 2 hole-in-ones and both by golfers that have handicaps on the north side of 20.

Here I am a decent golfer, 12 handicap, and I've never been closer than a couple of feet.

Today, on the 3rd hole, I hit a great shot 3 feet from the pin, pin high. I joked with my friend that it could have been a hole-in-one if it was on line...!

We get to the ninth hole and I had a thought that I would never get a hole in one. Horrible thought, I know, but it was in my head, none the less. I walked up to the ball like I had hundreds of times before. Looking for a target left of the pin as the green tilts right, I hit a 7 iron. I had trouble staying down on the ball for some reason today and this shot was no exception. I caught the ball a little thin but it was traveling in a good direction, right where I was aiming and it bounced a little short of the green.

One hop and it landed on the green. The ball started to roll hard right, on line with the pin. We all started to say, "hey, that has a shot". It rolled and rolled about 30 feet and we saw it drop in the hole. I howled and jumped and high fived and NEVER have been more excited on a golf course. I paid for several drinks after the round. And yes, there is a GOD.
