I was playing with about 30 of my classmates from The Citadel , Class of 1959. We were playing the Holly Course, Pinewood CC. On the 17th hole I hit a 9 Iron. The pin was back so it was about 110 yards. I could see it was straight at it but could not see it after it hit the ground. As we arrived at the green, another of my classmates who was watching asked who hit that shot. When I answered I did he told me it was in the hole. It was sort of surreal. I have been playing this game for over 60 years. I can remember playing with my grandfathers wooden shafted clubs. I still have a couple of them. Never even came real close that I can remember.
