I was recently playing in a golf tournament at Chateau Elan where my company was sponsoring a hole. My company had struggled to get a foursome together and I didn't think I was going to be able to play but at the last minute a friend at a company who we work with regularly informed me that he had an open spot, so I jumped at the chance. The tournament is a best ball tournament and with our foursome we weren't expected to win but we sure knew we would have some fun. Throughout the day, I was playing some pretty average golf. Had some good shots...and some bad...and thankfully a few clutch shots. Coming up to the final hole, we were a measly 1 under par. At every hole there is a tent setup with a vendor who has some goodies, some food or even some beer and my team was partaking and I thought I would go ahead and tee it up. So we had started on #5 of the Woodlands course and we were on the final hole for us which was #4. This was roughly a 315 yd, downhill, slight dogleg right par 4 where I was confident I had a chance to make the green if I got all of it. So as my team was having fun with the vendor, I tee'd it up and let it rip! I knew I had caught it good and knew it had a chance to make the green. It had a slight left to right fade and was heading for the front left edge of the green. The foursome in front of us had just finished and was still sitting by the hole to watch us come in. Being that it was roughly 315 yards I really wasn't able to see where it landed but I was able to see the guy near the hole throw his hands in the air and whistle. I took this to mean that I hit the green with my drive and immediately went to high five my team and let them know I made the green. We were all excited. At this point the vendor offered me a beer, and at this point I was feeling pretty good, so I partook. As we were all sitting there speaking with the vendor, one of the guys from the foursome in front of us drives up and says, "who hit that shot?" My group all points at me, suspecting that I had just hit into them as they were chipping to the green. He then looks at me and says, "IT WENT IN!" I, of course, think he is joking around and say, "ya, sure." He replies, "no, no...it really went in!" I again can't believe it and dismiss him stating, "are you messing with me?" He again confirms, "No, it went in the hole!" My team and I all look at each other and completely freak out! We begin high-fiving till my hand hurts, hugging and jumping up and down in complete disbelief this just happened. We then all jump in the carts, because we have to see for ourselves, and head down to the hole. I walk up to the pin, still not 100% certain my ball will be in there. I look down...and there it is, sitting in the hole. And there it is....my first ever hole-in-one...and it's on a par 4! I will never forget this moment for as long as I live.... P.S. I hit this using my Titleist glove and a Titleist HP Tour SF ball. :)
