First hole in one...finally
By MKesterson On April 12, 2016
Second and final day of our member-member tournament and learned that we would be starting on hole #2. A picturesque par three with the exception of bunkers guarding the perimeter of the green, a pond that is on the fence of being defined as a lake and did I mention the false front? If I was able to mark a three down on the scorecard I felt as if I stole a shot that day, my record on this hole was absolutely horrible to say the least. In contention to win, great warm up on the range, and the weather absolutely beautiful I felt like a million dollars; until I scanned the shotgun start assignments. The feeling in my stomach was reminiscent to the “pop quiz” announcement from a teacher. After arriving at the tee box, some warm up swings, and coin flip I agreed to lead the team off. I opened a brand new sleeve (pro v1x, custom number, inscription and all); teed the ball up and hit the best and prettiest shot of my life. Ball left the club face with a baby fade trajectory flew the required 180 yards landed 2-3 feet below the pin and jumped straight into the hole. First shot of the day hole in one! The noise from our four some was deafening. After the shock and awe settled down we began celebrating, and celebrating, and celebrating for the remaining 17 holes. Due to our “celebrating” we of course did not win, and my wallet was definitely lighter due to the rounds (yes there is a “s”) of drinks for our foursome let alone the other members but it was totally worth it!
