First Hole-in-one for me
By Christopher F On February 6, 2018
On July 31st, 2017 I was playing a round at Lone Star Golf Club in El Paso, Texas getting ready for the city championship tournament. I wasn't playing especially great that day and was scrambling to save pars. We got to the 6th hole, which is a nice little par 3 with water on the left side of the green as well as a bunker on the left side. The flag was 186 yards from the tees and it was sitting in the back left of the green. I hit a smooth 6 iron (716 AP2) and I had a nice slight draw working right to left toward the flag. My Pro V1x hit to the right of the flag and took a hop and looked like it rolled a little to the left and then disappeared. I wasn't sure if it had gone in or rolled off the back behind the hole. I was a little excited but tried to keep calm and not get excited just to end up being disappointed. I was playing with the assistant pro and he believed it had gone in. He took out his range finder and started looking for the ball and didn't see it. He thought it was in. He hit his tee shot and we headed toward the green. Turns out that it did go in and I was definitely happy that I had finally got my first hole-in-one and that I had done it with a witness.
