On this very same tee box our foursome discussed how many hole-in-ones each had in their career. I lamented that my one and only didn't feel legit since I made it on an executive course with only 4 par 4s and the rest par 3s. Although the others felt strongly that it was indeed legit, I nonetheless was looking for one on a par 72! It was a very windy day at Dove Mountain, Saguaro course, and I hit a low 8 iron from 165, wind blowing hard right to left! The green is elevated and although we knew the ball was on line, we couldn't see where it finished. As we drove up to the green we noticed that there was no balls anywhere near the pin! With that, the foursome looked at each other as we sat in the carts then proceeded to sprint to the green to look in the hole. The boys backed away and let me have the honor of looking first......and sure enough, there the Titleist ProV1x #5 sat at the bottom of the cup! Chaos ensued as did a few adult beverages!!
