In my 40+ years of golfing, I have come so close to a hole-in-one, I thought it would never happen. I once came 1 inch from winning $10,000 at a local golf outing. That was 194 yards with a 4 iron. We left a family member's 1 year old birthday party early so we could get 18 in on this Sunday afternoon. The foursome was me, my wife and our best golfing friends. I had never played this course before. I was playing very well on the front nine and was sure to be in the low 40's. Number 9 was 176 yards with the green sloping from right to left with the pin middle front. I hit the shot to the right portion on the green and saw it trickling left then lost sight of the ball as there was a big lip in front of the green. When we got up there I looked for a couple minutes, but could not find the ball. I finally said what I've said many times before, "Maybe, it's in the hole". And it was. Shot a 40 on the front with the 1. The flag I received from Barberton Brookside was a nice touch. I love playing the Titleist Velocity ball. Thanks, Titleist.
