Hole in One at Age 69

It was relatively cool day for June. I have been playing regularly with this group of guys for over a year. I enjoy them and the challenge of the course called the Links at Union Vale. I had bogies for the first two holes, but was playing OK. I usually hit a 5 iron on the third hole when the flag is in the center of the green and the wind is calm. The distance is 171 yards from the Number 2 tees. I hit the shot as well as I can hit it. I saw it land on the green and roll toward the hole, but did not see where it ended up. I was surprised when I got to the green and I did not see the ball within about 5 feet of the hole. I really thought I had a shot at a birdie. Doug, one of my playing partners walked up and looked in the hole and found it there. This was the second hole in one for me in my life time and at the age of 69, it was thrill to get it on this course that I enjoy playing so much. The rest of my round went quite well. I ended up with an 86, which is not bad for a golfer with a 17.0 index. Thanks for the opportunity to tell my story.
