Hole in one one as a Fathers Day gift

After not being able to hit a single GIR on a par three over two rounds, my second to last tee shot of the weekend tracked the pin like a guided missile. I was heavily debating which iron I would pull from my bag, either a 5 or a 6. It was a 178 yard tee shot and I decided to pull my 6 iron and I couldn't be happier with the result. Because my dad and I did not have a clear look at the green from the tee box, we had no idea where the ball would be. Originally, I was thrilled to simply have a tee shot hit the green, but as we pulled up we could only see one ball. As I rushed passed the first ball, I peered into the hole and tossed my putter down and threw my hands in the air. I was staring at my first hole in one in just about 13 years of golf. Even though it was Father's Day, the golf gods decided to grand a kid-less 20 year old the glory of his first ace. My dad told me that seeing his son hit a hole in one was just about the greatest gift I could give to him. I was using Titleist DCI 981 Oversize + irons, which are older than I am, and a Titleist NXT Tour S ball, which is now retired along with the scorecard.
