This was on a cold windy day on my home course in Kansas City, Missouri (42 degrees)... I wasn't expecting anything like this at all. The green was elevated, the 15 MPH wind was in our face and we were at least 160 yards out. I went up one club and hit a sweet 7 iron. My golf buddies saw the flight straight at the flag and kidded me that the drinks were on me, but with the elevated green and the trouble the wind had given us to that point, we had no idea how close it was... we laughed about it. Personally, I had hit this one on the screws, so I thought it was over the green. So... I spent about a minute looking in the long grass behind the green for the ball. Finally I looked back at everyone. They were all staring at me. I got the message and went and looked in the hole. Wow. What a feeling. My first hole in one.
