This story starts after three failed attempts at walking on at three local courses! Two had scheduled tournaments and the last one had a men's league going at around 2pm today Thursday, May 4th 2017. So me and my friend (witness) decide to walk-on our old tried and true local muni... After a pretty bumpy first three holes, a par lip out on #1, a poorly executed drive on the par 5 2nd and a routine par on #3. We step up to #4, a nice looking par 3, it plays 148 on the scorecard, today it was a red pin, but was still playing 142 into a steady breeze. I tee up my Pro V1, and hit a good, not great 9 iron straight at the pin... The flight looks solid, breeze not affecting it. It lands right over the pin and disappears. Being the eternal optimist that I am, the first thing I say to my friend is, "Did that hit the pin and bounce back into the water?" He replies "dude that disappeared, it's in the hole!" We exchange a pretty spirited high five and fist bump, he has to settle down and hit his shot and from there I take my little 140ish yard victory stroll to the cup. Still in disbelief, I see my divot a few feet behind the pin, the green slopes from back to front, so a little help from gravity got my ball to actually roll back into the hole! This was my first ever Hole-In-One, I have been playing for about 15 years, have a ton of near misses, but this one was sweet! Glad I could share this little moment with you all! p.s. My video would not upload, so I screenshot the ball in the hole. I was too excited and forgot to take a photo at the hole! Oops!
