It was a very hot day (92 degrees) and I was playing with my brother-in-law, Joel Schmidt, near Harbor Springs, MI. Chestnut Hills GC was in beautiful shape and we were only playing nine because of the heat. I was having an average round when we came to the 7th hole. I hit an 8 iron from the slightly elevated tee on the front of the green and it rolled back to the pin and went in! We both yelled and jumped up and down and did a high five right on the spot. I'm sure several other people off in the distance heard us and knew what happened. I went into the clubhouse and recorded the ace (the fourth this season at Chestnut Valley) with the pro and bought a round of beers from the bar. I had my scroecard signed by my brother-in-law and the pro and dated it 07/12/2012. It was a great day and I'll never forget the experience of my hole-in-one on vacation with a Titleist #1 ball in northern Michigan.
