My First Hole in One

My First Hole in One

It had rained steady all day long and we weren't sure if we would get to play our usual 9 holes after work Wednesday evening like we try to do every week. But the skies cleared just in time and though the course was a bit soggy we teed off on number 10. On the 15th hole, a 191 yard par 3, I hit first with my 3 iron and struck a nice looking shot and with a slight draw it headed toward the green. It bounced once before landing on the green and rolling toward the pin. My partner swore he heard a clank as it hit the flag but I failed to hear it. I didn't get excited because the ball was still visible in the distance. However, upon reaching the green we found the ball wedged nicely between the flagstick and the lip of the hole. I proceeded to gently remove the flag and the ball dropped ever so sweetly into the hole. My very first hole-in-one!
