I've been playing golf for over 35 years, (I'm over 60), and have never gotten what I would call close to an ace. Matter of fact I had only seen one ace in my life in an actual round and that was just 2 years ago.

Playing with my wife and a couple of our friends yesterday I hit the shot of my golfing life (at least up till now), and I still don't quite believe it!

I was playing really well, and was only one over after 6 holes. The club had the seventh tee set fairly far back and the flag was placed deep past the center of the green making what is normally an 8 or 9 iron shot, a 5 iron for me. The length of the hole by my range finder was 174 yards and I hit it string straight, one hopping it into the hole.

I finished the front 2 over, but lost focus and concentration going into the back 9, to shoot an 84. Guess the excitement of getting my first Ace was most than my golf game could handle, but now I've got a new goal and perspective. Get that 2nd ace, ( and break 80)!!.
