My Sunday of the Masters 2017

My Sunday of the Masters 2017

My name is Eddie McWilliams and this is my hole-in-one story.... Several years ago I was fortunate to buy a condo at Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach South Carolina. My wife and I were planning a trip the week before Easter but my cousin Patrick recently had a baby girl (Elizabeth Ann) and was having her christening on Saturday April 8th..... I really wanted to make the most of our week, so I convinced her to leave NY right afterwards and drive overnight to South Carolina. We arrived about 5am..... So after a few hours of sleep, I was anxious to get out golfing. Was looking forward to it for weeks! I called my buddy Ramo and I grabbed my clubs from the closet and headed down to the clubhouse for the first available tee time... We set out on the Greg Norman Course at about 1:30pm on an absolutely perfect Sunday Afternoon. April 9th 2017 The first few holes were ok , a couple of bogies and then came the 3rd Hole. A Par 3... Which was playing about 157 Yards from the white tees. Ramo hit first and landed just before the Green. The Pin was toward the back of the green. I pulled my Titleist AP2 7 Iron from the bag and stepped to the tee box. I hit a beautiful draw right toward the center of the green.... As I saw the ball rolling toward the back of the green I lost sight of it. That's when my buddy Ramo started jumping....I think it went in the hole he was shouting... I wasn't convinced , I thought it may have rolled off the back. So we got in our cart and started for the green. Ramo brought the iphone to video tape the walk to the hole and sure enough there it was. My ball in the bottom of the cup. I was kind of in shock at first. I was like wow. I have a group text on my phone with about 12 of my cousins so I sent the news "Just got my first hole in one Barefoot Norman Course #3 Hole 157 Yard Par 3" . What a great feeling to share that with my family... and they all thought I was crazy for leaving so late the night before. Now I will always remember I made my Hole in One on the Sunday afternoon of the Masters 2017. I have had my AP2 Irons for about 9 years, and I love them. Although my handicap is a little high (GHIN Number: 0358768), I love golf and my Titleist AP2 Irons have always been the better part of my game.
