NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD HAPPEN

A gorgeous day in Vegas after suffering a brutal winter in Detroit, playing with great friends who don't get together often enough - it was a perfect setting. Using my 30 year old clubs that I travel with I was making good contact but not scoring. The greens were tough. The 185 yard fourth hole has an elevated tee box and the view looks like a post card. I chose a 7 wood and struck it cleanly aiming slightly left of the flag to take advantage of my usual easy fade. It was like it was in slow motion, the ball seemed to be in the air forever. Darryl, the club member, said "its going to go to the right when it hits", and it did. It took one hop, settled and tracked right at the hole. Ron, our best golfer, said that ball is going to go in - and it did. What a thrill. I'm 65 and never really came close before. A truly great day!
