On Friday, October 7, 2011 I jumped out from behind my desk when my parents arrived from Fort Myers, Florida to visit and play in a 3 club tournament over the weekend.
I don't get out to play much anymore so it's always nice when Dad comes to town because it gives me an excuse!!

We went out to practice with the three clubs we were going to use for the tournament on Sunday. We were playing Diamondback Golf Club in Haines City, Florida. It's amazing how well you can play with only three clubs!! We get up to the sixth hole, par 3, 110 yards with a two club wind. I was playing from the reds and Dad off the Senior tees. I had chose my pitching wedge, Titleist AP2, as one of my three clubs to use and was fearing that I didn't have enough club to get there. I tee up my ProV1 and wish for the best. I hit a nice high ball going right at the pin and yell out "be on the stick baby"!! It was, hit one inch behind the flagstick and dropped right into the hole!!! I turned to my Dad and said "did you see that?" Both of us in a state of shock, I gave a big yell and ran to give him a big high five. Dad, who’s 82 and shot his age the week before, said “I’ve been playing golf for over 60 years and have yet to get a hole in one!! My husband, who had one last year at the same course, pulled up a minute after it happened.

It only took me 25 years to get there but I did it and how amazingly exciting it is!!
