Once in a lifetime

My friend Garry and I were golfing at D.W. Field Golf Course in Brockton, MA on a great day in October. We were golfing about normal, parring a few holes with an occasional bogie thrown in here and there. I had just double bogied the difficult 13th hole (par 4) and was disappointed. When it came my turn to tee off on the downhill 14th (par 3)there was a breeze from left to right and I setup just left of the pin (located front left behing a sand trap about 4 paces on.) I selected a pitching wedge and took a normal swing. The ball flight was high just left on the pin gently fading toward the target. The Titleist Pro V1 bounced once just over the top of the trap on a perfect line to the pin, it flattened out and rolled ever so slowly toward the pin and disappeared! I hane been golfing for almost 50 years and have made eagles on par 4's and 5's but never aced a hole. I've peppered the pin flag and hole, but never had one fall. It was a great feeling. A golfer in the group in front of us had a cell phone and he saw it go in , as well. He offered to take a picture and so he did.
