14 June 2014, day before Father's day, I am playing in a foursome with my son. We are playing a game of wolf and it is my son's turn to choose a partner. That day, the wolf hit last on each hole. The first of our fourseome hits his tee shot on the 176-yd par 3 17th hole at Ballantyne Country Club to three feet, so my son quickly states - "that's my partner!" Being 2nd to hit, I step up to the tee and hit a 5-iron that tracks directly at the pin its entire flight, hits about a yard in front, then quickly goes in the hole just after the first bounce. My son was excited to see his first ever hole-in-one, but not so glad that he had just been "aced" out of winning the hole.

Side note: after playing golf for nearly 30 years without a hole-in-one, I have had three in four years since moving to Charlotte, NC, and exclusively using No. 1 Titleist ProV1's.
