Scott Ritto - 1st Hole-in-One
By Scott R On May 2, 2017
Playing in a Kids Konnected charity golf tournament on March 27, 2017 with great buddies Alan Inbody and Jonathan Bredehoft as my witnesses, we arrived at the 8th hole of El Niguel Country Club. I was playing with my Titleist ProV1x, and was pretty warmed up since starting on hole 18 in the shotgun. The distance for the hole was set-up at 155 yards. It was windy that day, but fortunately the wind was at our backs after hole 5. I was the second player to hit, and stepped up with my 7 iron. I took my swing and hit it very clean and right at the flag. We all watched as it took one high bounce after landing on the green about three feet from the cup and rolled slowly toward the flag. It looked like it disappeared into the cup, and Alan was trying to see if it rolled behind the cup and was hidden by the flag. We approached the green and were able to confirm that it did indeed fall into the cup for my first hole-in-one. Congratulations came from the group with high fives and excitement. I could not have had better witnesses for the event.
