Sharp Park Almost Dark

I flew to California to the quarterly beers for bogeys tournament in Ripon, CA. Beers for bogeys is put on by a couple of guys who put on this tournament 3-4 times a year. Beers for bogeys is a two man scramble event. If a team makes a bogey they must nominate one player on the team to shotgun a beer. If a team makes a birdie or better they then get to hand out a shot gun to any other team. As you can tell a lot of drinking goes on. It was a hard battle but in the end the team of Jared Macedo(me) and Kyle Mendel clinched the trophy with a 14 foot birdie putt on the 18th hole for a 3 under, 4 shot victory. as tradition we continue the party at the local pizza joint then finish it off at the one bar in city limits. At the bar that evening another guy we had grown up with said he was heading back to San Francisco. I knew that my plane flew out from there back to Oregon that next day @ 5pm so I asked if I could catch a lift and crash on the couch. So we journeyed back to the city and woke up bright and early and went to get some breakfast before we decided what to do that day. Me, being the golf addict I am said lets go loop a quick 18 before my flight. i then went right on golf now to find the nearest track to go squeeze in a round before the flight. We arrived at sharp park golf course in Pacifica, Ca and hit the opening shot off the first tee with no range or warm up at all. The round is flowing nice as it the sun gets covered with clouds and the temperature started to drop. We arrive at the 15th tee box with a blind shot over a wet mossy area with big branches coming out of the water. Barley waving over the branches was the extended flag sticks flag whipping right at us. I addressed my ball and struck a high 9 iron right at the flag "Be right" I said. We hopped in the carts and approached the green. As we arrived we could only see one ball on the green, but it was drastically right of my balls line. We quickly ran to the green and checked the cup and right there nestled at the bottom with that beautiful Titleist logo with my custon 92 right below it was there. I screamed as Mike and Alanna dog piled me on the green. Drinks on me at the bar after and then rushed to the airport to catch my flight back to Oregon with a grin I couldn't hide.
