I was playing Mesaba Country Club in Hibbing, MN on Sunday, 8/28/16 with my brother Paul Katalinich and friends Danny Flynn and John Wright. We were having a "buddies" golf weekend on Minnesota's Iron Range. The 15th hole was our last par 3 of the weekend. The flag was back left in the green on the 144 yard hole. The white tee markers were 1 yard back of the MGA marker, the back of the green was 160 yards from the tee markers, and there was a slight breeze from right to left which was just slightly into us. I hit a 6-iron right on the flag, the ball landed about 15 feet in front of the cup, and rolled up and into the hole. All four of us saw it disappear but I would not allow myself to think it was in the cup until I arrived on the green and peered into the cup to see my Titleist ProVx red #1 in the bottom of the cup. It was awesome to share the experience with my brother and friends, and really capped off a great weekend of golf! This is my first hole in one in about 40 years of playing the golf. It still hasn't sunk in completely.
