I'm just about to head over to Augusta National and get some practice
in before the Par 3 Contest this afternoon. The annual Par 3 Contest
is a long time tradition dating back to 1959. It's been a few years
since I've played it so I'm looking forward to having a little fun out
there. It's a good way to
wind down the day before tournament play begins. The patrons really
get into it so it's always pretty loud and a fun atmosphere.
I had a good finish in Houston last week. I'm striking the ball well
and feeling more confident in that area of my game. Brad and I have
been working a lot on my short game and spending time talking about
the basics of putting and not making it too technical. It's important
to keep it simple and that's been the main focus.
It feels great to be back at the Masters. I still get goose bumps
every time I take the drive in on Magnolia Lane. I never get used to
the drive into the clubhouse and it always brings back memories of
watching the tournament as a kid with my dad every year. There are
so many traditions and it's such a magical place. This year they've
constructed a new practice facility with a lot more room for us....great
addition and very well done. Well, I'm looking forward to getting out
there tomorrow. I'm in the last group to tee off and hopefully the
rain doesn't cause any delays. The greens will be cut tonight and in
perfect tournament form for the first ball hit tomorrow. My practice
rounds have been consistent and putting will be key for a successful
round. I need to get going but just wanted to thank everyone for
their support....should be a great week.
I'll be in touch soon.
