Brenden Pappas Trusts New Pro V1 to Nationwide Tour Victory in Colombia

New Pro V1 loyalist Brenden Pappas fought through rain and uncertainty to win the Nationwide Tour's Pacific Rubiales Bogotá Open in Colombia, marking the second consecutive victory for Titleist golf ball players to start the 2011 Nationwide Tour season.

So far this season, 2,613 players have teed up Titleist golf balls in competition across the worldwide professional tours, more than all other competitors combined.

Pappas posted rounds of 67-66--133 (9-under) at a stormy Bogota Country Club to win the weather-shortened event, rolling in his New Pro V1 golf ball for birdie on the final hole of his second round Sunday morning.

That birdie also turned out to be the game-winner, as lightning later in the day forced officials to shorten the rain-plagued event to 36 holes.

Rain or shine, Pappas was pleased to be off and running.

"My goal this year is to be No. 1 on the money list and it hasn't been in the past," Pappas, 40, told He made 10 birdies and one eagle over the two rounds.

"I had some very stern conversations with myself in the off season, trying to decide what I actually wanted to do with my game," he said. "It must have paid off. I'm in the waning light of my career so I've got to get it done right now. There's no more tomorrow or next year."
