13 for 2013: Team Titleist Year in Review #7

We roll on with the Year in Review and showcase another one of our favorite posts featuring a few Team Titleist members in action as they help us test white box prototype golf balls.

Watch the video below for another look back from earlier in the year.

Prototype Testing the #1 Ball in  Golf

Before a Titleist golf ball ever lands on the shelves of your local pro shop, it must gain approval from a very important group of passionate golfers – members of Team Titleist.

Not too long ago, when the new 2013 Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls were still in the Research & Development phase, we invited a group of Team Titleist members to test white box prototype golf balls, give feedback, and truly take part in the R&D process for the #1 ball in golf.

As part of the player testing and evaluation process, we hit the road and spent some time with members from across the country to answer questions, gather feedback and witness the testing first-hand.

Each stop along the way we met golfers of all skill levels and swing speeds. So check out the video above to see some of the sights and sounds we captured from your fellow Team Titleist members and remember to keep sharing your feedback!

In the meantime, thank you to all of the Team Titleist members who participated in our white box testing. Whether you were on camera or submitted feedback via e-mail, Twitter or otherwise, we really appreciate all of your help and we hope you enjoyed being a part of the process.

And if you’re wondering how you can take part in a future product test panel like this, remember the more you participate and the more engaged you are with Team Titleist--from posting in the discussions and adding blog comments to completing your profile--the better your chances are at potentially opening the doors to these exclusive Team Titleist opportunities.

I participated in this testing in the fall of 2013 and was wondering how to find out which ball I tested. I liked them a lot . Thank you T.T. , Randy.

I have had the privilege of testing the white package balls in the past and would welcome the opportunity to do so again.  Best wishes for a successful launch of the new balls!

I got a sleeve in mail with black letters and red numbers

There was a note with sleeve saying I would get email asking for feedback - never got the mail

So I will post here - tested against current NXT tour and Cally Chrome

My SS is in 90-49 range - am 6 hdcp

Was able to test in NC late November - high 60's temp - 9 holes only

The test balls performed very well

I was able to hit all 3 on all shots - hit order was random

Longer by 5-10 steps on every drive

    Iron distance same

100 yds in - got one hop and stop 8/9 holes

Putter feel was softer than either ball

Was impressed - yet to read anything about what ball version was tested either here or at GolfWRX forums

It would start the year as my gamer if I knew what it was

Titleist - Thank you for this opportunity

Played 5 rounds with these test balls. I hit some of my best shots of the year with this ball. Feels a little harder than the pro v1x. Did not get as much spin around the greens as I expected, but over all I really believe I found my ball. This ball is a great fit for my game.

I tested the prototype ball a few months ago and did not think it was any better than the tour s, but I recently tried it again and I love it. I would like to know if it will be available or what it might be replacing.

Surprised to find the white box balls in my mail box. Played a few rounds with them and found them to be longer than the solo's I had been playing and don't  play well enough to put much spin on any ball. I didn't pay attention  to the color of the ball but would like to know which ball I had since I lost 1 in a pond and 2 in leaves.       Thanks,  Louie G

I received a sleeve of the Test balls and used them over 4 rounds of golf here in Scottsdale, AZ.  I can report that they flew further than the cally that I used for the prior 3 rounds.  They also felt softer too, sort of squished when I hit them.  They also had a nice sound to them and putted great!

However, I never received an e-mail from Team Titleist to provide any feedback.  The balls had great performance and feel.

     Sincerely, Phil Polomsky

Yes the test ball(s) was a surprise in the mail box. Went out on my morning nine holes and they seemed firmer than the PRO-V1.  Could not get the normal drop-stop spin that PRO-V1 are renowned for. Lost two in the barranca and with one left, I shall keep it for a souvenir.

Thank you Titleist for allowing me to test your ball.

How could I get a sleeve of the new golf  balls to test next time?
