Smith and Blixt Team Up for Zurich Classic Victory

The new team format at this year’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans provided plenty of excitement for golf fans, as the team of Titleist Brand Ambassador Cameron Smith (Pro V1x) and Titleist golf ball loyalist Jonas Blixt (Pro V1x) topped Titleist golf ball loyalist Kevin Kisner (Pro V1) and his partner in a Monday playoff at TPC Louisiana.

Both twosomes finished at 27-under-par 261, with Team Kisner firing a final round 12-under-par 60 on Sunday to come from four shots behind the leaders.

Playing best-ball format in sudden-death, both teams made par on the first three holes before Cameron Smith wedged his approach on the par-5 18th to four feet. He converted the birdie putt, sealing his first PGA Tour victory and the third for Blixt (2012 Frys.com Open, 2013 Greenbrier Classic).

"Inside a hundred, I though that it was my strong point in my game," Smith said. “Really started working on that again this year, and yeah, to hit a shot like that under the pump, especially when you know you've got it, was pretty cool."

The team of Titleist Brand Ambassador Jordan Spieth (Pro V1x) and Titleist golf ball loyalist Ryan Palmer (Pro V1x) finished solo 4th at 22-under.

“I felt like we gave each other a lot of space to play our own game,” Blixt said after the victory, “and I felt like our games fit each other very well on the golf course, especially when you have alternate shots. I mean, I felt like I could hit it anywhere and he would get it up-and-down, and I hope he felt the same way."

Congratulations, Cameron and Jonas!
