Titleist golf ball loyalist Bernhard Langer (Pro V1) earned his record ninth career senior major with a one-shot victory at the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship.

Langer eclipsed the mark originally set by Jack Nicklaus and which he had equaled just last week with his victory at the Regions Tradition, the first PGA TOUR Champions major of the season.

"It means a great deal to win two majors at age 59," Langer said. "And to surpass Jack's record of eight majors out here is pretty neat. I'm a good friend of Jack's and I think very highly of him, and whenever you can do something just similar or close to what he's achieved, you've done something pretty special."

The Senior PGA Championship was the only major that had eluded the Langer over the past decade on the PGA TOUR Champions.

In the final round at Trump National in Virginia, Langer pulled ahead with a 12-foot birdie on the 16th hole. He closed with a 4-under-par 68 to finish with an 18-under-par 270 victory total.

Langer also won the season-opening Mitsubishi Electric Championship and now has 32 career PGA TOUR Champions victories.

Langer’s resume also boasts 76 additional worldwide professional victories, including 42 career wins on the European Tour and three on the PGA TOUR, highlighted by his two major wins at the 1985 and 1993 Masters.

With his Senior PGA victory, Langer has now completed the PGA TOUR Champions “Grand Slam” by winning all five major championships, the first player to do so.
