The 2020 Team Titleist Invitational celebrates the event's 5th anniversary. A grand occasion needs a grand venue, and Bandon Dunes certainly checks all of the boxes. This year’s event also looked a little different as we worked closely with our friends at Bandon to reimagine various parts of the event to make sure we maintained physical distancing and practiced the most up-to-date safety measures to ensure the well-being of all attendees,
One thing was for certain though, from our Punchbowl Welcome Reception to The Preserve Farewell, attendees needed to keep their clubs nearby every step of the way.
Here's a little inside-peek of what Team Titleist got to experience at Bandon:
Punchbowl Welcome Reception
Each Team Titleist member was greeted with a coveted Invitational tee gift. They then got to enjoy two 18-hole putting courses on Bandon Dune’s 100,000-square-foot putting green, The Punchbowl. The low score took home a Scotty Cameron Putter of choice.
Golf at the Sheep Ranch
Just months after its long-anticipated opening, Team Titleist enjoyed 18 holes of golf on Bandon’s all-new Sheep Ranch.
White Box Testing
For the past few weeks, Titleist white boxes have been finding their way into lockers across world-wide Tours as the tour seeding and player validation process gets underway for the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls. And we wanted to give our 2020 TTI attendees a little sneak peek and a chance to test the new balls, so we surprised every player with a dozen of each new model.
TSi Experience
Attendees were also amongst the first golfers in the world to experience the all-new TSi drivers and fairways under guided expertise and recommendations from Titleist Product Specialists. As the buzz continues to build for our newest driver, we wanted to make sure every attendee had a chance to take one for a test drive – or two or twenty.
Links Lessons
Each of Bandon’s 5 championship courses are traditional links designs. This differs considerably from target golf typically found in the states. To help Team Titleist with the transition, two resident Titleist Staff Pros provided a clinic for hitting link-style shots using each throughout the bag.
Golf at Bandon Dunes
If there are 2 courses to play at Bandon in 2020, it would be the newly opened Sheep Ranch and the Bandon Dunes course which was the match play venue for the 2020 US Am.
The Preserve Farewell
Our focus on guest safety and physical distancing did not allow for our traditional finale get together. In its place, TT members concluded their trip with a loop around The Preserve, Bandon’s 13-hole par-3 course where they had 13 chances to make an Ace along with 13 chances to win some Vokey Store gear. Guests received one more final thank you as they walked off the 13th green in the form of a $50 gift card to grab a keepsake at any Bandon Dunes pro shop.
