Titleist TSi Drivers See Continued Success on Worldwide Tours

The incredible speed and accuracy of the new Titleist TSi drivers is once again on full display this week on the PGA TOUR and European Tour, with more players using Titleist drivers than any other brand.

Since TSi drivers were first introduced at the season-opening Safeway Open in September, Titleist has continued to be the preferred driver choice of PGA TOUR players, with 49 players teeing up Titleist drivers this week at the Farmers Insurance Open, 16 more than the nearest competitor.

A combined total of 88 players are playing Titleist drivers this week at both Farmers and the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, with 91% being new TSi2, TSi3 or TSi4 driver models. Of those players choosing to play new a TSi driver, 35 percent (14 at Farmers, 14 at Dubai) are doing so without an agreement.

That list includes one of first-round co-leaders at Farmers (TSi3 9.0, Rogue Silver 70 TX), who is currently No. 11 in the World Ranking, as well as the world’s current 27th-ranked player, who is currently T-6 after two rounds in Dubai.

The latter, who made his 2021 debut last week at The American Express (finishing T-8), made the switch to both a new TSi3 9.0° driver (Mitsubish Diamana D+ Limited 70 TX) and new TSi2 16.5° fairway metal (Mitsubish Diamana D+ Limited 80 TX) following extensive offseason testing.

“He reached out to us over the offseason and said he’d heard a lot of really good things about the driver,” said Titleist Tour Rep J.J. Van Wezenbeeck. “We were going back and forth on phone and text, I was building different options and shipping them to him, and then getting feedback. He was really impressed with the ball speeds he was getting with TSi3, but the big thing for him was the overall performance. The driver he was playing last year, he felt that when he missed it, his misses were big. With TSi3, the misses were really tight. He loved the head shape and the feel, but it was that total performance package that really stood out.”

This week at Torrey Pines, Adam Scott is one of the 44 TSi driver players in the field. Scott, who first put his new TSi in play at the Houston Open and currently ranks 14th on TOUR in Driving Distance (312.1 yards), visited the Titleist Performance Institute last week to test some additional shaft options, including a new AutoFlex SF505 XX model which he decided to put in play this week with his TSi4 9.0 (A•2 setting, 45 inches).

“Adam likes to feel a lot of shaft load at the top of his swing,” Van Wezenbeeck said. “He is also always looking to test different options – despite leading in driving distance late last year he is always wanting to try and get different feels to match the swing he is working on.”
