In general the 716 AP2s have more forgiveness in the long irons and a slightly lower trajectory for the short irons versus the 714s.

I have 714s, and chose not to switch to 716s.

    I'm waiting for the 718s.

My 2 cents: if you want to improve your game and don't practice get AP1s, and if you want to improve your swing and practice regularly get AP2s.

How far do you hit you 7 iron, and what flex shaft do you use?

If you hit less than 150yds, get AP1s with…

Both balls are great. I prefer the X because it is a little longer off the tee and I like the hardness of it. Recommend both balls to everyone.

So for the past couple years I have been only playing X, but with the new advances made with the V's it's hard to ignore. Love both and will continue to play both regularly.

The ProV1x's have some wicked spin anyone who wants the ball to sit on the greens and still be able to roll in the fairway that ball is for you
