    D4 increases loft by .75degrees without changing the lie angle, but it effectively changes face angle from .5 degrees open to .5 degrees closed. A4 increases loft by 1.5 degrees, but also effectively closes the face 1.5 degrees.

    Hi JSafe,

    Yes the driver shaft will get stiffer when tipping it 1". The shaft will be different if you are trimming it from the butt end. But remember if you have it tipped, to have the club checked for swing weight.
