first of all you need to get fitted from a professional! otherwise buying clubs doesn't help your game
even if some might be a bit more expensive, they will surely pay out from the performance on the coarse

Won't be there, but UNC and Duke have well-regarded courses. Tobacco Road is about 2/3 of the way to Pinehurst and about 1/2 to 2/3 the price. No OOBs and lots of imagination to play out of the waste areas.
