I just completed the survey describing my experience with he test balls with a blacked-in square and triangle. I've also seen photos of balls with open squares and triangles, but this is the first I've heard of test balls with grayed-in squares and triangles…

Absolutely I would play the ProV1 in optic yellow!

I think some PGA pros would, too. They have no opportunity to try them out in practice, e.g., on the practice tees and putting greens. Like any new bit of equipment change, it might take a while though…

I believe you should go through a ball fitted. Check the Titleist website and they may have an event close to your home soon. I also believe as, a player, you need to like the way the ball looks in the air. If you don't like the look of your trajectory…
