I'm far from the official word, but the AP1 is only about 10 percent bigger than AP2.
I suspect that proportionally, an oversize club with a thin top line would appear just as strange as a small head with a thick top.
And from a performance perspecitve…
Maybe phrased differently, do you have lighter or heavier heads available to correct or adjust swingweight?
