• Re: Why do you love the U.S. Open and what makes it special to you?

Great post Mike.  I agree the fact that the Sunday finish falls on fathers day really means a lot to the players when they can win the title.  Most golfers can relate to playing the game with their fathers and that means a big deal to make your father proud…

  • My best shot

Our league almost got rained out. Had 15 minutes till they sent us home. Then the weather cleared. We did a shotgun start to save time. We started on 1 with light rain. By hole 3 it had cleared up. I haven't been hitting my 4 wood very well, but this…

  • My 2nd Hole in 1

My hole in 1 came on a 217 par 3. I was playing with my dad, my buddy and his son. The wind was blowing about 20 or 25 miles an hour in our face. i came to the tee with my 3-wood. (i usually hit my XHot 3-wood about 250 yds) So i told my buddy's son that…

  • At last my first ace

After 35 years of golf I holed a 8 iron on a 158 yard par 3 using a Velocity ball. The shot landed on the green and headed straight for the hole. I told my playing partner "Its a hole in one" before it dropped in the cup. A twosome on the next tee also…

  • First Hole in one

I was on the 17th tee at Cheboygan Golf and Country Club. There was no wind at all, perfect hole location. I say to myself ''I'm going strait at that pin''. So I did. It was a perfect hit. A pin seeking missile as I call it. My Pro-V1X hit the front edge…

  • Re: grapite shafts for AP2 irons

You are exactly right Bubba. I have the 712 AP1's w Dynamic Gold R300 steel shafts and was thinking I might do better with graphite shafts so last fall I went to a Demo Days and the Titleist Rep set me up with AP1 6 iron with GDI Tour AD 65i graphite…

  • Re: Titleist 910D2 Driver

I've just bought a 910, having played a 905R. I like the forgiveness on off-centre hits, although the 905 is still amazing! Just an incredible club. I got the 910 in 8.5 and I'd like to raise it to 10 degrees but the dispersion is erratic. My understanding…

  • 65 years old finally a hole in one

Retired 27 months ago and play same course nearly every day weather permitting. I have been getting close on this hole, 86 yard par 3 with elevated green, birdied probably 14 out of the last 30 times I played it. Hit a gap wedge which hit on the front…

  • Re: Wedge Decisions

Thanks again Bubba. I will find a fitter

  • Re: Downsizing the wedge arsenal

    Hi Don,

Thanks for the comment.  Yes the 58 will be my all-purpose SW.  The bunkers where I live typically have harder wet sand so going with a 58/8.  My 56 goes about 110 to 115 and I use my 60 for 100 yards and in.  I figured the 58 would be a good replacement…
