Rich, Chris, Cool Breeze and I all headed to Cyprian Keys this week.

Cyprian Keys is a tight track with a good mix of holes. There's a lot of trouble, but there's also opportunity to score. The course winds through trees, over hills, bisects creeks, is lined with environmental hazards, and peppered with big rocks. There's a lot of risk reward opportunities, and if you can hit your tee shots straight you'll be in good shape. Sideways is no good and often results in a lost ProV. Cyprian is more of a mental challenge than a physical one, and is probably the most difficult course I've played under 6,500 yards. There's a ton of blind shots, tricky greens, and places you can't miss. A little course knowledge goes a long way here. A yardage book is your best friend. Overall the course was in great shape, and I'd love to take another crack at it. If you get the chance to play, bring some extra balls, and don't go long!

As always the company is what made this round great.

Sounds like a great time was had by all! I love playing shorter, hard courses. I find it to be more engaging when you have to really think your way around the course, rather than just bombing driver all the time and hitting wedges into greens.

Nicely done Josh! I couldn't have said it better myself. I really enjoyed the course, fun layout and definitely target golf.. When the "local knowledge" tells ya to hit there, listen... Also, the conditions were pretty good considering how dry it's been in New England this summer.

I would also love another crack as well especially on the front 9!

I will add this, the 19th hole is pretty good.. Food was great along with some sweet Yuengling..

Thanks again to Rich for setting this up and always great to see Josh and Sean aka Coolbreeze...

Nice write up, Josh! I think your assessment is right on. Keep it fairly straight, don't try to bite off too much and enjoy the challenge along the way. The 73.3/134 rating/slope from the blue tees we played is very well earned.

What a great afternoon out there with you, Chris and CB. Glad you all enjoyed the course and hope we can get out again soon.

Here's another picture that Chris took of me on the 15th tee hitting right in to the late day sun.
